The Looms of tradition
The Looms of Tradition
Community-based research is an essential part of our society
as it allows for individuals to come together and work towards improving the
well-being of their community. Throughout my experiences in making
community-based research, I have had the opportunity to work with various
community members, organizations, and stakeholders to gather valuable insights
and information that allow for positive change to occur.
One of the most meaningful experiences is when We conducted interviews with well
known weavers in Caoayan. Through these conversations, we were able to shed
light on the life of an Ilocano weaver. One of the most impactful moments during
this research project was when we presented our findings to some of the
students. Our research not only highlighted the background of a weaver but it
serves as an inspiration to others to continue life even when it’s hard. Seeing
the direct impact of our research on the lives of these families was incredibly
rewarding and reinforced the importance of community-based research in creating
positive change.
