The Looms of  Tradition

Community-based research is an essential part of our society as it allows for individuals to come together and work towards improving the well-being of their community. Throughout my experiences in making community-based research, I have had the opportunity to work with various community members, organizations, and stakeholders to gather valuable insights and information that allow for positive change to occur.

 In the initial stages of our community-based research initiative, we commenced by strategizing the segmentation of the components. We carefully outlined the divisions to ensure a structured and Following that, we conducted an interview with a prominent member of the community who is skilled in the art of weaving. 

One of the most meaningful experiences  is when We conducted interviews with well known weavers in Caoayan. Through these conversations, we were able to shed light on the life of an Ilocano weaver. One of the most impactful moments during this research project was when we presented our findings to some of the students. Our research not only highlighted the background of a weaver but it serves as an inspiration to others to continue life even when it’s hard. Seeing the direct impact of our research on the lives of these families was incredibly rewarding and reinforced the importance of community-based research in creating positive change.

 

 Overall, my experiences in making community-based research have been eye-opening and rewarding. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of looking in the beauty of every work because the process is what matters. Community-based research has the power to bring about meaningful change and empower individuals to advocate for their needs and rights. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to engage in community-based research, and I look forward to continuing to work towards creating a more equitable and sustainable future for all members of our community.
