The Vigan Fiesta Celebration is an annual event commemorating the city's patron saint, St. Paul, which falls on January 25th. This grand fiesta celebration brings together people from all over the province, celebrating the city's unique history and culture. One of the most anticipated parts of this celebration is the Marching Band competition.


MARCHING BAND COMPETITION

     The Marching Band competition in Vigan Fiesta Celebration features different schools and groups from the whole province, who put on a spectacle of music, marching, and synchronization. Bold colors, spirited performances, and resounding beats fill the streets as the various bands parade through the city. The energetic drum beats and dynamic choreography leave spectators enthralled and captivated.



LONGGANISA FESTIVAL

Furthermore, another celebration that takes place in Ilocos Sur is the Longganisa Festival. This event pays homage to the province's traditional delicacy, the longganisa, which is made from local pork, herbs, and spices. This festival is a gastronomic adventure for locals and tourists alike, as it showcases the various versions and flavors of longganisa




CARNIVAL

·    The carnival is another much-awaited event during the Vigan Fiesta Celebration Festival. Colorful rides, fun games, and delectable street food fill the carnival grounds, creating an atmosphere of pure joy and excitement. Families, friends, and even tourists come together to experience the thrill and laughter that the carnival brings.



 KANNAWIDAN

  A Festival in the Province of Ilocos Sur commemorating the separation of the two Ilocos provinces in 1818. This festival is a showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best of Ilocano dishes. Visitors are transported back in time as they witness the reenactment of historical events and the traditional practices of the Ilocano people. Kannawidan not only highlights the region's cultural heritage but also inspires locals and visitors to appreciate the beauty and richness of Ilocano traditions.



 FUR PARADE

·    Lastly, the Pet Parade. as a dog lover, i came to see and watch this delightful event that brings together pet owners and their furry companions. Participants dress up their pets in creative costumes and parade them along the streets of Vigan, showcasing the bond between humans and their beloved animals. It is a heartwarming sight to witness pets of all shapes and sizes walking alongside their owners, spreading joy and happiness to everyone they encounter. The Pet Parade is a charming event that spreads joy, laughter, and a sense of unity among the community.





These festivities showcase the colorful history, rich culture, and unique traditions of the city. Whether it be through music, food, carnival rides, historical reenactments, or fun and furry pet parades, Vigan's festivals offer something for everyone. Indeed, These events not only bring joy and satisfaction to the participants and onlookers, but they also contribute to the preservation and promotion of Vigan's proud heritage.
